Ebony:

Ebony is the ultimate precious wood. The French word for cabinet-making even comes from ebony, "ébénisterie." In terms of lifestyle, ebony is premium wood that, alongside other less exotic tree species, fragrance artists simply can't get enough of. It has been famous since Antiquity for its dark, almost black colour. In perfumery, its essence is traditionally used as a base note for its intensity, sensuality and depth.

Vetiver:

Vetiver is a go-to in natural perfume making. This bright green plant with long leaves packs all its precious aromas into its roots: buried treasure under a shrub that can grow two or three metres tall in the right conditions.

Ebony:

Real ebony grows in tropical regions, primarily in pebbly soil on hot mountains in Africa or Guyana. The tree easily matches oaks in height and its incredibly dense wood is famous for its almost black colour, with the best ones being free of inclusions.

Vetiver:

This tropical plant comes from the Indian subcontinent, has intensely aromatic roots and grows primarily on the Bourbon Islands in Haiti and Java. Vetiver is naturally woody, green, aromatic and earthy with fresher or smokier notes depending on where it is grown.

Ebony:

Ebony symbolises natural strength and power and the Ancient Egyptians used it to make more delicate and precious items. The word "ebony" comes from the Ancient Greek "ebenos". It has withstood the test of time to inspire centuries of poets and perfumers.

Vetiver:

Vetiver didn't make its big comeback in the world of perfumery until the late 50s. The fresh earthy note from steam-distilling the root's resin set the international standard in men's fragrance from Grasse and Paris to the rest of the world... so the grassy plant's fragrance has been around the globe!
