The bird of paradise brightens tropical landscapes. Perfumers have been traveling the world for centuries in search of botanical treasures with exotic fragrances. Four fragrances imagined by our Grasse perfumers highlighting floral and fruity notes for an olfactory journey to the most beautiful tropical islands. The plant and its botanical family (Strelitziaceae) were named in honor of Queen Charlotte of England: Sophie-Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, her real name. A botanical enthusiast, she is counted among the founders of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.
"Flower of Paradise", also known as "Bird of Paradise", is a plant of great size with an elegant appearance and sumptuously colored flowers reminiscent of the shape of a bird. It belongs to the Strelitziaceae family.
The bird of paradise originates from South Africa, where it grows along rivers and the southern coast. In other words, it comes from a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and cool winters.
